If I could hug and kiss you electronically, I would (provided you are a woman). You have saved my sanity by letting me buy for my nieces and grandnieces -- they are in Central Europe and I am here in the USA.

Thanks a lot....their Christmas will be so much nicer because of you. May you have wonderful holidays yourselves. Gransdaddy and Granduncle Joe

    Where would we go?

    From: Maria Coletta McLean
Mesg: John T.D. Keyes, Editor, Columnist & reviewer:
I read your review of my book My Father Came From Italy and I like it. One of the benefits of writing such a story has been the response I have had from readers, especially in the US, who tell me their stories. Such a man was Sergio Coletta who bought the book because of a review in USA Today and because our surnames were the same. Imagine his surprise to find out the book was about his own home town. He left Supino at the age of four and is now living in Moss Point Mississippi but he's been back 'home' a few times and next year he'll be in the village to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary. He recommended a restaurant in Rome (owned by a relative of his cousin) and I had a great meal there as well as an interview with the National Post. Then I met a reader from my mother's hometown (Greensburg Pennsylvania) whose grandmother came from Supino and then I had a phone call from Domenic from las Vegas who was born in the house my husband and I bought in Supino and then! ... well, you see how it goes.
    Thanks for the review. Maria
